Compare offers without mixing assumptions

Fair shopping means identical inputs and a written checklist — not mixing different coverage tiers across quotes. Prepare: overnight PLZ, licence plate or vehicle ID, first registration date, annual km, SF class, named drivers with birth dates, and desired Haftpflicht / Teilkasko / Vollkasko plus deductibles.

When offers arrive, compare more than the monthly price: sum insured / liability limits, glass and wildlife wording, Werkstattbindung, SF protection (SF-Schutz), extras (roadside help), and cancellation terms. Note whether payment is annual or monthly.

If you already have a German policy, check ordinary cancellation deadlines (often by 30 November for calendar-year contracts) or special termination rights after a premium increase or claim. Do not cancel the old policy until the new cover’s start date is confirmed in writing.
